What makes the Clownfish interesting, perhaps not unique in this world, but intriguing is their ability to adapt to changes physically. A clownfish school has 1 female, the leader, and has 1 sexually actively male and several sexually inactive males. Ok so it’s a matriarchy. That’s not news. Sure but when the female dies then the sexually active male BECOMES female, permanently, no going back. Then the largest non-active male becomes sexually active and the process starts again. WOW. Mind blown.
